Are you looking forward to learning how to change your Spectrum Wi-Fi name and password? Well, if so, then you should know that this blog is just what you need at the moment. As you read along, you will be able to change your Wi-Fi name and password easily, so let’s just get started with the process.
Process to Change the WIFI Network Name and Password of Your Spectrum
To begin with, you need to know that when you get a new router from Spectrum, you must first change the default Wi-Fi network name and password. Doing this will make it easy for you to remember your Wi-Fi password. Moreover, it will also make it difficult for hackers to breach your network and get into your private details, such as your bank details. So now, below, you will find how to change the name and password of your Spectrum router by using your router’s web interface, your online account, or even the My Spectrum app.
Changing Your Spectrum Wi-Fi Name and Password with Your Spectrum Online Account
Using the Web Browser:
- You need to first go to https://spectrum.net and log into your account. You can use any web browser to access your Spectrum account online here. However, note that this only works on routers released after 2013, as older Spectrum routers have this feature.
- Then, you should click on the ‘Your Services’ tab. It is towards the top of the page, along with ‘Account Summary and Billing.’
- After that, you need to click on the ‘Internet’ tab, which should be active by default if you have subscribed to their Internet services.
- Then, you also need to click on the ‘Manage Network’ option. You should see it under the router’s name and the ‘Your Wi-Fi Networks’ header.
- Next, you will need to select and delete the original text in the password field and then type in a new password. Once you have deleted the previous text, you can enter a new password. After changing the password or name, the network information on your other devices, such as your Wi-Fi doorbell, will no longer exist.
- To change the network name, delete the original text in the ‘Name’ field and enter the new name.
- Now, you must click on the ‘Save’ button. You should see the button just below the password field. Your password will then be changed, and you will be logged out of the network from all other devices using that network, including laptops, computers, smartphones, Wi-Fi cameras, and printers.
Changing your Spectrum Wi-Fi Password and Wi-Fi Name from the My Spectrum App
Using the My Spectrum App:
- First, you would need to open ‘My Spectrum’. The app icon looks like a profile head outline and is white on a dark blue background. It is easy to find on your home screens, in the app drawer, or by searching for it.
- You will now have to sign in to your Spectrum account. You could be asked for your Spectrum username, or you could be logged in automatically.
- After that, you will need to tap on ‘Services.’ You will see the tab right at the bottom of your screen with the icons of a smartphone and a monitor or TV.
- Next, tap on your router under the ‘Wi-Fi’ header.
- You then need to tap on ‘View and Edit Network Info.’ You will find it right under the ‘Your Spectrum Network’ header.
- After doing so, tap ‘Edit Network Info’ below your Spectrum network information.
- You also need to tap on the password field and delete the text that is there, and then you must enter your password. If you would like to see what you are typing, you just need to tap on the eye icon.
- Finally, at last, you need to tap on the checkmark icon. You will see it in the upper right corner. And now your will has changed, and you must log out of the network from all devices that use this network (laptops, computers, smartphones, Wi-Fi cameras, printers, etc.).]
